Frequently Asked Questions

Will you make me do something with which I am not comfortable?

Hypnotherapy is a very permissive therapy, the client remains fully aware of what is happening and cannot be made to do anything that they are uncomfortable with.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis when used within hypnotherapy is a deeply relaxing altered state of awareness. The client remains in control but whilst relaxed the therapist is able to make suggestions to the subconscious in order to initiate change.

Why do some therapies require my GP's Consent

In some cases where a client is under the care of a GP, the GP may have prescribed medication for which they are monitoring the results. It is therefore important that the GP is aware of any additional therapy.

Do you guarantee results

It's only honest to say that the answer is no, I can't make any guarantees about what level of success you'll achieve, nor should any other therapist, this is as much dependent on the client as it is the therapist. I offer an eclectic approach using a range of therapies in order to get the best possible results, however there is no 'one size fits all' approach. In fact...studies have shown that it isn't the amount of experience, study or practise that your therapist has undergone. It's actually all about how you relate to them. If you don't feel at ease with your therapist then they are unlikely to be able to help you, that is why I offer a free initial consultation without obligation.
